SSC Steno Exam Pattern 2024
The exam is a Computer-Based Examination (CBE). The exam pattern is as follows:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: Hold 50 questions of the 50 marks.
- General Awareness: Holds 50 marks for the 50 questions.
- English Language and Comprehension: 100 questions of the 100 marks.
The exam will held for 02 hours. There are a total of 200 questions in the exam. For each correct answer, the 01 mark will be given and for the incorrect answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted. The department conducts the exam in English and Hindi mode.

SSC Steno Hall Ticket Selection Process
The two stages will conducted for the selection of the nominees. The stages are as follows:
- Stage 1: Computer-Based Examination (CBE) – It is the first step for the selection. The nominees have to appear for the online objective-type test that will check their general intelligence, reasoning, English language proficiency, and general awareness.
- Stage 2: Skill Test in Stenography – The nominees who cleared the CBE will be eligible for the post. The stenographer’s skills will evaluated by the department. The nominees have to transcribe dictated passages within the given period.
